Wie bin ich zum Tauchen gekommen:
In meinem 1. Urlaub auf den Philippinen traf ich Beat von den Reef Riders in Big Laguna, wo ich meinen OW Kurs absolvierte, das hat mir soo viel Spass gemacht das ich noch viele Tauchgänge in den nächsten Urlauben hinter her schob…!993 verließ ich dann Deutschland um als Manager und Tauchlehrer bei Cockail Divers anzuheuern…natürlich musste ich es erst einmal zum Tauchlehrer schaffen, also hinsetzen und büffeln und natürlich tauchen…1 ½ Jahre später eröffnete ich und Pedro die Octopus Divers…

How i became a diver:

At my 1st vacation to the Philippines in 1989 I met Beat at reef riders in Big laguna, there i started my OW course, it was so fun that i did many dives here at the area before i in 1993 continued diving in within 4 months up to instructor level…than I worked 1 ½ years at cocktail divers as a manager and instructor. !995 me and Pedro opened up Octopus Divers…

Schönstes Taucherlebnis:

Ohhh, da gibt es viele…mhh… zum Beispiel ein Tauchgang am Hole in the Wall, Lina und ich guideten eine Gruppe, Lina vorne, ging gerade durchs Loch als ein grosser Manta übers Loch schwebte…klasse…und Lina hatte das schöne Tier wieder einmal Nicht gesehen…hehe..sorry Lina… Oder ein Walhai auf Ticao Island….mein 1. Walhai…gigantisches Erlebnis…

Nicest dive experience
Mhh…there are a lot of… one dive at hole in the wall, Lina and me guide a group, in front was Lina, dove just through the hole, a manta ray comes up on top, wow, but Lina don’t saw these nice creature..hehe, sorry Lina…another nice one on Ticao Island where I saw my first whale shark…wow, about 12m long… what a giant…

Mein Liebster Tauchplatz in Sabang:

Na ja, auch eigentlich viele, aber so in den letzten Jahren wohl der Sabang Point…1 Minute Anfahrtszeit, unglaubliche Vielfalt an Korallen, Fischen und zu 80% eine grosse Schildkröte, eine schöne Wand in 3 Stufen bis auf 27m…einfach toll…

My best dive site in Sabang:

Also a lot oft them…but in the past years its probably Sabang Point,1 min to go there by boat, jump in and unbelievable different kinds of corals, a lot of fish all kind and at 80% you can see a big turtle there around… a nice wall in about 3 steps down to 27m…simply great…

Liebster Tauchkurs:

Am liebsten bilde ich Leute im Bereich Equipment Wartung aus, d. h. Divemaster Kandidaten oder Rescue Taucher… aber auch die, die im Bereich ihrer eigenen Ausrüstung mehr von Pflege und Wartung, vor und nach dem Urlaub, lernen möchten… auch für nicht soo technisch versierte… da kann man viel zeigen um die Lebensdauer der eigenen und doch recht teuren Tauchausrüstung zu verlängern…natürlich bilde ich aber genauso gerne noch im Wasser aus…Seid dem 1. Oktober 2016 auch Ausbilder für neue Tauchlehrer bei der Proffessional Diving Association…eine neue Heraudforderung die ich gerne Annehme…

Diving courses I like…

I teach a lot in equipment maintenance, means DM candidates or rescue divers, but also divers who are interested to keep their own equipment in a good shape, before and after dive vacation…of course also I like to teach under water…my newest challange is, i am an PDA Instructor Trainer…i will love to teach new Instructors…

Noch zu Besuchendes Reiseziele:

Palau, oder meinen Freund Erhardt in Südleyte, zum Walhaitauchen…ach Galapagos Inseln wäre auch noch…

Places to visit:

Mhh, would like to go to Palau…or to south Leythe to visit my friend Erhardt and look at some whale sharks… and..ah yes of course the Galapagos Islands…

Andere Hobbies:

Da gibt es recht viel…z. B. Billiard spielen, Leute zu Tauchern zu machen…Reisen…Kart fahren auf unserer  Bahn in Puerto Galera…gerne spiele ich auch Golf auf unserer “Ponderosa”, einem Golf Platz hier in den Bergen…oder auch auf der neuen Minigolf Anlage in Puerto Galera.  natürlich auch anderer Sport, seit 3 jahren 2 mal in der Woche „Power Walking“, etwa 8-14km die Umgebung von Puerto Galera erkunden, solltet ihr auch mal mitmachen…

Other hobbies:
Yes there quite a few… pool billard, i´ve played already to Efren Bata Reyes and Django Bustamante, but I let them win…ja, and of course diving and teaching… kart driving on our new kart track in PG, a bit of golfing at Ponderosa Golf Club I do as well (wish I could know how to play), also at our new mini golf track with 18 holes in puerto galera is a lot of fun…and of course twice a week my power walking, 8 to 14 km walking into new area´s around PG, great, try it out…
